(15/03/2016)Philippe planned a wonderful tour that gave me an insight into the college experience in Vietnam. I visited the campus of the Ho Chi Minh University of Technology & Education, and got to observe students having an outdoor hands-on lesson on building construction and also attending lectures in the classroom. As a university professor in the US, the difference in the classroom culture was very apparent and interesting to me. I also had the chance to talk to friendly students in an English club and hear more about their life as university students. To cap off the tour, Philippe took me to a college "town" (an area where students from several neighbouring universities like to congregate) to try various traditional Vietnamese food/dishes. All in all, it was a tour that was off the beaten path but fascinating and enjoyable.
