Historic Sites & Landmarks in Saigon - District 1, 3 and 10 - Flowers Market

Our tour guides, also your motorbike drivers will pick you up at your hotel around 08:00am with Morning Option (01:00pm with Afternoon Option) to start the tour.

We will go around the center of Saigon and firstly visit some famous landmarks in District 1, such as Notre Dame Cathedral, Central Post Office. Both of these buildings were built in the late 19th century during the French occupation.

Saigon Central Post Office: Located right in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City, it has still been the busiest Post Office of Saigon so far. This building’s beauty is the winning combination of European and Asian architecture and culture. It strongly marked the great work of its designer, the French Architect - Alfred Foulhoux.

Notre Dame Cathedral: Another historical heritage site from the French Colonial period, it was built upon an abandoned local pagoda for the Catholic followers in the expedition army. Nowadays, along with the Central Post Office, the church becomes one of the popular touristic spots of Saigon. It is the only church where foreign Catholic followers can go to for praying.

On the way of leaving District 1, we will pass-by some historical places, including Reunification Palace and the War Remnant Museum, and then the Venerable Thich Quang Duc Monument. He is the monk who burned himself to death to protest against the persecution of Buddhism during the Vietnamese War (June 1963)

Immerse in the chaos of busy streets and vehicles, we will take you to the secondhand clothing market, weave around the alleys in District 3, and then see the daily activities of locals living in the old apartments nestling itself in the bustle of the city.

Escaping out of snaky alleyways, we will stop at a local roadside drinks shop for tasting Sugarcane Juice separately added with some tropical fruits, which is very popular to Vietnamese people. Drinking a bottle of sugar cane juice and sharing funny stories to each other would be experiences that you’d never forget.

The next stop would be a wonderful place for those who love flowers, the biggest wholesales flower market of Saigon. All of chrysanthemum, marigold, gerbera, orchid, rose, sunflower and forget-me-not always appear in the flower stalls with splendiferous, charming, and colorful beauty. Numerous kinds of flowers, transported from different areas of Vietnam like Da Lat and Mekong Delta, will certainly amaze you a lot. Furthermore, wandering around the Flower Market by night, you can choose beautiful flowers for your own or a bouquet of flowers for your loved ones and send romantic and good things to them.

Saigon Chinatown (District 5 and 6) - Local wet market - District 4

Then, we head to Saigon Chinatown (District 5 and 6). This town is best-known as the heaven of foods. On the both sides of the streets are the countless number of the traditional restaurants serving Chinese foods and shopping stores.

On the way, we will stop at a Chinese beverage shops to enjoy herbal drinks and 24-flavored tea which are really good for health, digestion, purification, and detoxification. Owing to its benefits, you can get the sight of that many locals stop to buy and drink a cup of this, then go away.

Moreover, it’d be a miss without gaining knowledge about the tradition, customs, and religion when going to a new land. That’s the reason why we lead you to the ancient pagoda which has existed for nearly 300 years, considered one of the oldest Chinese temples in Ho Chi Minh City. This pagoda is strongly influenced by Chinese architecture and culture. When going inside, you easily feel the sacred atmosphere that the incense smoke smells up all day and night and offerings are always fulfilled by worshipers.

For a long time, Chinese Vietnamese community has been famous for trading activities. Therefore, it is easy to understand that there are a lot of markets in Chinatown. After visiting the pagoda, we will go to a spontaneous local wet market. I use the word “spontaneous” because the policemen can get there and wipe out all stuffs put on the road at any time. But, you don’t need to care about that, it rarely happens! Just come and enjoy delicious tropical fruits, mainly shipped from Mekong Delta of Vietnam!

After that, we will go across the Binh Tay Market, the largest market in Saigon, not Ben Thanh Market, unlikely to what many people think. Before reaching to the highway to move to District 8, 7 and 4, we can also smell clearly the Chinese traditional medicine on the biggest medicine street of city.

Finally, we get to the final destination in District 4 for eating 3 different Vietnamese noodles versions featuring to 3 separate areas of Vietnam, consisting of Pho from the North, Bun Bo Hue from the center and Hu Tieu from the South as well. Besides that, it’s the great time for you to taste many popular types of local wine. If the Korean has Soju, the Japanese has Sake, then the Vietnamese has King Wine (its local name is Ruou De). Also, we prepare a very special fermented wine for your try, and then you’ll certainly be excited with.

Special Ho Chi Minh Motorbike Tour ends around 12:00 noon with Morning Option (05:00 pm with Afternoon Option)
