No trip to St Petersburg in summer is complete without a tour of Peterhof, the beautiful summer residence of the Russian Imperial family. Commissioned by Peter the Great, this stunning palace and its expansive gardens are sure to impress.
Peterhof residence
This 5-hour tour begins with a scenicc drive to the Peterhof residence.
Peterhof was a brainchild of Peter the Great and was without a doubt his
most ambitious project.
Visit the Lower Garden, which retains its appearance of the mid-18th
century, and marvel at the spectacular fountains. Among them are famous
trick fountains, which spray unsuspecting visitors with water. See
original statues acquired by the tsar in Italy, and admire the royal
flowerbeds.
In the middle of the park you’ll see the largest cascade, which is one
of the most exquisite in Europe. The Upper Garden is another gem of
Peterhof, and is where the Neptune fountain is located.

Grand Palace
Next you’ll enter the Grand Palace for a tour. The palace served as an
official royal summer residence until the revolution of 1917. Admire
interiors decorated in baroque, classical and oriental styles. One of
the main highlights of the visit is the study of Peter the Great, which
has retained its original design for nearly 3 centuries.
