Istanbul’s Grand Bazaar

MEETING POINT & FIRST DESTINATION?

I say we should meet at Beyazit station in the morning. (Beyazit-Kapalicarsi or named in English as Istanbul’s Grand Bazaar / The Largest Covered Market).

Still no clues? Do you remember “Dangerous Motorbike Scenes of James Bond at Grand Bazaar in Skyfall? Yes, it is exactly what I am talking about!

THE GRAND BAZAAR

As I say previously, we meet at Beyazit station on main road; we start learning our names; and we dive into the the largest covered market which is a unique site and resembles a labyrinth (A huge designed place which has 60 streets and over than 3000 stores inside! Wooov!); I bet you would not enter there without a guide; as I didn’t enter without mom in my childhood! Not because I would get lost but because you would love to! So many things to explore! Wish you could be given a forever shopping duration without getting aged!

Anyway, we have to move on; follow me, please!

The Column of Constantine

After an hour/few hours as you wish; we leave Grand Bazaar and we bump into The Column of Constantine on main road (I do not upload any photos here to make you die of curiousity.)

It has a very tragic story indeed. When we arrive there; I will tell you its story... Poor stone it is...

Okay, follow me, please!

Sultan Ahmed Square

We will meet Sultanahmet Square which used to be a huge arena for the awesome chariot races; and was one of the biggest sporting and social centre of Constantinople in the Byzantine period.

Additionally, we will meet The Egyptian Obelisk, The Serpentine Column, The Stone Obelisk here and some other important historical buildings and monuments around.

The Blue Mosque and its complex, Haghia Sophia, The Basilica Cistern, etc.

We will spend some time here; we will move on to Gulhane Park afterwards.

Eminonu, The Spice Bazaar

We will visit these important lively spots; and we will take ferries to Kadikoy, Anatolia side.

Haydarpasa Train Station

We will see this historical building twice when we will be crossing Bosphorus by ferry.

Kadikoy and Moda

We will visit this old city which was called "The Village of The Judge" and became "Kadikoy" later. We will walk up through the amazing complex shopping centre; and we will find a nice dining place in Moda...

Sirkeci or Karakoy Ferry Stations

Important: I always take care of my groups; so after we finish the tour, we will get back to Europe Side together for your safety. I generally leave my groups at Karakoy or Sirkeci ferry stations which are close spots for any transportation and crowded areas for security. If any assistance is demanded further, I would love to help you.
