start walking around 4Km in old quarter "36 streets" to visit some famous and specialized- food families

At 11.30/or 18.00, our tour guide will welcome you at your hotel lobby, then start walking around 4Km in old quarter "36 streets" to visit some famous and specialized- food families or stalls/ local restaurants, shops where they run their business everyday, certainly you will watch and taste around 6- 8 particular dishes, we can customize vegetarian or special food too. Special thing that tour guide would like to introduce some popular authentic food in lovely mini restaurants (not luxury restaurants) where you feel comfortable to sit down and enjoy some favorite dishes and nice drinks too.

Food on Foot Tour will give you an unique experience to try the foods of the local Hanoi people

It's interesting to hear from tour guide about the history of the old quarter in Hanoi, it is thousand years old and today retains much of the old flavor that made the area special in earlier times, each street was the exclusive domain of one trade (guilds) so there are whole streets of blacksmiths, silver shops, paper shops, headstone makers and more. Originally there were just 36 streets in the old quarter but today there are more than 50 streets.

It is very difficult to find some local food stalls and mini restaurants on your own in hidden alleys and sidewalks, certainly the best way to make it easy is joining, taking part in this special tour to learn about Vietnamese cuisine, culture, people and language.

After all. Food on Foot Tour will give you an unique experience to try the foods of the local Hanoi people, we ensure the food is handled hygienically and provide a comfortable venue for the tastings. The benefit also goes back to the vendors or restaurants/ families as we buy directly from them.

At 14.30/or 21.00, our tour guide say goodbye to you, and will help you order taxi or show you direction back your hotel. See you again!

It. Was. Great! We had so much fun and we were so full we had to “surrender.” And our guide seemed quite disappointed that we didn’t get to taste all the food he intended for us to try. Our guide, Tommy, was a really great guide. All our tour guides in Hanoi (we booked 4 separate tours) were goood but Tommy is our uninamous favorite. We were late in starting our food tour (almost 8pm instead of 6pm) because we arrived very late from our previous day tour but he patiently waited for us. We were ok to end our tour at 9pm as per orIginal itinerary but Tommy would have none of it. We ended about 11pm, but only because we already “surrendered.” We loved all the food we tried in Hanoi. From hot noodle soup, to cold noodles, to street bbq and kebab, to local sweets, to egg and coco coffee, etc. Tommy brought us not only to the places frequented by tourists but also to places where only locals would normally go. Oh, and of course we ate on the sidewalks like everybody does. It was quite a gastronomic experience for our entire family.

We had a fantastic time on the tour. Our guide Mai was very knowledgeable and such a lovely lady. She had some great information about the history of Hanoi and Vietnam and took us to some fantastic food stalls to taste some fresh Vietnam delicacies. I would highly recommend this tour with Mai !!

We were recommended this tour by other travellers during our recent time in Vietnam. We signed up for the street food on food tour and we were not disappointed. We were picked up at our hotel by our guide Long and then travelled to 5 different locations to try the different street food around Hanoi. The amount of food, and the knowledge of the guide was well worth the money paid. We can not recommend this tour enough if you are ever visiting Hanoi.

Thầy Pagoda locates at the foot of Sài Sơn mountain, southwest of Hanoi. The pagoda is 20 kilometers far from the center of city, yet you can get there by motorbike in approximately 40 minutes. This a famous Buddhist pagoda is more than 8 centuries years old. The Pagoda is associated with Từ Đạo Hạnh 徐道行, a special Zen master of Vietnam who lived in Lý Dynasty. His reputation became a legend in memories of people of that land because of romantic anecdotes about his great magic and kindness. He had travel from lands to lands to help people without asking for return. Finally, when he is on the verge of death, Từ Đạo Hạnh went to Sài Sơn mountain (its colloquial name is Thầy mountain), and built a small pagoda named Hương Hải (it was changed into "Thầy" pagoda latter on). He died here in 1116, and accidentally in that year, King Lý Thần Tông was born. The myth that King Thần Tông was the afterlife of Từ Đạo Hạnh has been rumored from this event. However,Thầy Pagoda is not only attractive by these legends, but also charming for its ancient structures. Coming to this landscape, you will be stunned by the perfect harmony of the surrounding geography and Vietnamese traditional architecture. Visting Thầy pagoda, you will be enlightened by the beliefs of Vietnamese, people worship Buddha, God, Mother Goddess and Saint. Thầy pagoda is also famous for its mysterious limestone caves, the ancientest water puppet art of Vietnam, and enjoy a specialty of Thầy Pagoda : chè-lam cake. A trip with so much unforgettable moments, here we go :)
