Cu Chi Tunnels is a legendary underground system of over 220 km of tunnels, a must-see for both Vietnamese and foreign travelers who are interested in the history of the Vietnam War. The tunnels are now a historical structure of Vietnam and considered a heroic district for the role they played in the resistance to US forces during the Vietnam War.
The tunnels are located approximately 60km from Ho Chi Minh city. The tour departs at 8:00 am from Vietnam Adventure Tours office or from your hotel in a private vehicle. Enjoy the scenery along the way, as we pass the lush, endless rice fields and the ducks are water buffaloes swimming in the rivers. You might find it hard to imagine that once the area was almost completely destroyed by bombs and mines from the war, when Cu Chi was a "free target zone ".
Explore the underground network of Cu Chi Tunnels
Once we arrive, you will get a chance to walk through some of the tunnels, discover the hidden corners and imagine what life was like here for the resistance soldiers. If you like, try to cook with the smokeless stoves used by Vietnamese soldiers to cook during the war. You can even try foods which the soldiers lived on. If you're feeling brave, or curious, you can even try your hand at shooting at AK-47, one of the guns used during the war.
Head back to the city in the afternoon; the tour finishes at 2:00 PM. We will normally drop you off at Ben Thanh market, district 1.

Our tour guide Mr. Fa was great. We really liked his personal perspective and the personal stories he shared. The tunnels were really neat, and the grounds were well managed. Although it says it is a half day, it is really about 7 hours, so we'd recommend bringing snacks or a small lunch to hold you over. The only negative was the miscommunication on the start time. We were instructed by email to meet at the tour shop at 7:45, but did not leave until 8:30. When we looked at the brochure inside it stated that the tour starts at 8:30. You may want clarification from the tour group on what the start time is so you don't waste time waiting around.

I was on my own and wanted to do something that is historical and chance upon this tour. It's a pleasant short tour and great way to explore the country and the guide is wonderful and friendly. Our guide Jackie is knowledgeable and is helpful and makes everyone relax. His character and experience opens my eyes to the history of Vietnam war. The coach is comfortable, and they provide water and free wifi. The chance to go under the tunnel is quite something. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting a visit.

I gotta say I liked this tour! Jackie was such a great guide and had so much information regarding the tunnels and their history. If you have a spare day in Ho Chi Minh City then you must do this tour and demand Jackie!

Great tour with ex Vietnam soldier Jackie, very informative. You’ll leave with a full understanding of the Vietnam war that you would only get from someone who was there.

We had excellent service throughout, they have hotel pick up and are easy to contact through WhatsApp if you have to speak to them directly. The tour itself was a fantastic day out. Our tour guide, Foo, was very good. Foo kept us engaged all throughout the trip and was very knowledgeable. He took care of everyone and made sure everyone could hear him and understood what he was telling us. Foo answered all questions and also added in some comedy elements into his tour which kept everyone upbeat. Would highly recommend this tour if you're in Ho Chi Minh City.

The tour was great and it was thanks to Mr Fa, our guide that makes the visit fascinating and more interesting. He helped us to understand better the situation in Vietnam nowadays, its history and the life in this country. Always looking for the most objective view and showing respect for all kinds of thinking. Very recommended!
