What's up, guys! My name is Ben. I and my brother are co-host of Saigon Taste Tours. I first discovered Saigon during my studies at University after leaving my hometown in rural Vietnam. I immediately became fascinated by the city's unique blend of culture, history, and delicious cuisine. My education was focused on tourism, and I have extensive experience working as a local English-speaking tour guide for various companies. But, I finally decided it was time to bring my own custom-tailored experiences to my guests, which is why I start creating my own local experience tours. My passion is to bring local experiences and to connect you with Vietnamese culture in a fun, distinctive way and be able to showcase highlights of unique places to travelers. It would be my pleasure to design a tour geared towards your personal taste and interests, whether they be historical monuments, street food, architecture, religion, or local workshops. I know how to show you the best part of my city. Let me be your guide to fulfill your Saigon Adventure Journey.

Saigon Street Food Night By Foot

My greatest joy that I can show you is the best local food spots in Saigon. I want to take you to the most popular street stalls and hidden alleyways in the city and show you where the locals love to eat. It focuses on street food dishes that most people outside of Vietnam have never had a chance to experience.

I will give you a menu of 8 mouth-watering dishes in 6 different food locations. If there is anything not on the menu that you would like to try, I am happy to accommodate this to satisfy you. I will see the process of making food in every spot and you can even practice right away with street vendor chefs.

My main goal of this tour to connect you with Saigon via local street food. This tour is suitable for anyone on a budget, large appetite, and a small time frame. Therefore, don't skeptical to join us in this One Of A Kind this experience.

Here are some highlights of the samples on our tour.

*Discover food that you haven't seen before.

*See the brilliant colors of the downtown flower market.

*Discover ancient American buildings in Saigon.

*Gain insight into some of the local history and knowledge.

*And many hidden gems and small alleys.

See you soon!!

*First spot: Snake Head Fish Noodle Soup

1: Banh Canh Ca Loc

Banh canh ca loc is a popular dish in the center of Viet Nam with the available ingredient like: snakehead fish, rice flour or wheat flour. The farmers can catch a fish while working on the field. After simple process and spice, they have a beautiful , delicious dish for the middle morning meal or the afternoon snack. Nowadays, it is not only a famous street food but also the local speciality.

*Second spot: Savory Sizzling Giant Pancake.

2: Bánh xèo

Bánh xèo quite literally means ‘sizzling pancake’ and is made from rice flour, water, and turmeric. They come filled with a variety of different meats and even shrimp in addition to mung beans and beansprouts. Once again it is eaten with mixed green leaves and herbs, wrapped in rice paper and dipped in a fish sauce usually served with little chunks of chili and garlic. It is really quite delicious and can be found for incredibly cheap across the city.

* Third spot: Vietnamese Street Pizza

3: Banh trang nuong.

Originally from the beautiful countryside city of Dalat (one of our favourite places in the country), banh trang nuong, or ‘Vietnamese pizza’ is essentially thick rice paper grilled with varied toppings often including eggs, dried shrimp, pork, herbs and spices. Found all over the city, this cheap and tasty snack is a perfect light snack or as part of a food tour.

* Fourth Spot: A Little Crispy Pancake

4: Bánh Khot

Sometimes found in the same restaurants (and stalls) as Bánh xèo, Bánh Khot are very small pancakes made from the same ingredients as Bánh xèo – rice flour, water and turmeric with the addition of coconut milk. Topped with shrimp, onions and more coconut milk, they are bitesize, delicious and once again, served with greens and a spicy fish sauce.

* Fifth Spot: Vietnamese Sandwitch

5: Bánh mì

Bánh mì is a Vietnamese style baguette filled with a variety of fillings such as pork sausage, pate, coriander and pickled vegetables. Fillings can vary from place to place and a variety of meats are usually on offer.

*Sixth dish: Seafood Street.

6: Seafood & local beers

We have some seafood dishes which are scallops, clams, and grilled prawns. You might eat these dishes before somewhere but I am quite sure that you will never taste the same. Because of the atmosphere, the vibe in the street, the way they cook as well as different sauces combined together to create the amazing seafood street.

*Seventh location: flan cake or coconut ice cream.

7: Banh flan or Kem Dua

The Flan cake made from egg york, coffee, condensed milk,... which is very popular for the young age in Vietnam for hanging out at night.Or the coconut ice cream is so tremendous and refresh to have your stomach feel much better after eating many savory dishes before. Please pick one you like.
