I'd like to be a guide as much as I can, because I'm interested in both history and cultural exchange. Also I graduated from sociology and it helped me to improve myself in terms of understanding cultures and people. That's why I'm looking for a job that would enable me to meet new people from different countries and save money for my further education. During my undergradute education I lived with two foreigners for 2 years and it altered my life. I experienced that cultural interaction enlarges people's perspective and I'm open for more.I'd like to offer touristic tours, but my projects both include touristic experiences and experiences of native people in Turkey. I showed around many erasmus students in Istanbul and they were satisfied with my guidance. In addition, I also add highly delicious tastes which are always consumed by the very people who live here. My aim is to have an exchange of ideas people from different cultures, and I am volunteer to introduce my hometown.

Different experiences in historical peninsula
  • What I offer is a bit different than you may easily come across as a tourist. What I mean is that just like any other country turkey also has certain places, destinations. And even without any guide or tour you can find those destinations easily by yourself. But I believe that my existence should provide you distinct experiences. That's why I prefer to design an alternative tour for you; again including very beautiful and valuable places to visit, but at the same time they would let you experience what and how people live in their daily life here. I tried to answer the question 'what would I wanted to see, taste, smell if I were you'. I'd like to share my very own experiences in Turkey as a native person here and I promise you to see lots of historical places with an extra advantage: they are ultimately included in the daily life as well. So, you can feel the life here by having a perspective of an insider. Our meeting point will Çemberlitaş tramway station or behind it where the small square is located with lots of pigeons under the Çemberlitaş Column. Our last destination The Madrasa of Çorlulu Ali Paşa is very close to both Beyazıt and Çemberlitaş tram station where will our seperation point.

Walking around on the streets as an insider and feeling both the history and today

What I am trying to do is showing you the transformation, the history and the complexity in the streets. Because it is not allowed to enter Istanbul University campus, I think we cannot go inside. However, sometimes security guards allow tourists to walk in, so I mean, we may try to enter with pretty request, because it is worth to enter that green campus. But as I said before, It is not certain. During walking, you would buy old stuff from hawkers or drink fresh fruit juice, and I definitely sure that you would see many tramping cats even among tombs. You would even feed pigeons and seagulls.

Visit mosques and historical places and learning their historical backgrounds.

We are going to visit famous used-book bazaar and two mosques, which are related with both Ottoman Empire. They all have remarkable architecture. You will be facing with mosques that are the creation of intelligence. They all have symbolic signs related with the Sultans of that time. In The Süleymaniye Mosque you would encounter with beautiful view of Istanbul. We are also going to walk along a mosque which exactly had been an Orthodox Church in Byzantine Empire time. After conquest of Constantinople the building was assigned to Dervishes and after a while, it turned into a mosque. It has also impressive architecture with its colors. You would also see the tomb of talented Mimar Sinan who was chief architect of that time.

Tasting indigenous flavors and dishes during our trip

We are going to taste that place's special flavors and dishes, and also we are going to also sit to have a rest while we are drinking Turkish Coffee and tea. I am going to bring you somewhere that is one of the best cafes which is famous for its beautiful Istanbul landscape and fresh syrup(beverage). At the end of our trip, we are going to sit again in inn-yard of madrasa near to Beyazıt tramway station. This charming place attracted many tourists due to its historical and colorful atmosphere, shisha, brewed tea, sage and apple tea. I will also inform about you about that madrasa.
