Travelling is exciting, I feel it. Sharing the trip is essential, I believe it. There's always something new, I live with it.

Historical Hill Hike!
  • Treacher's Hill (locally known as Bukit Kutu) is one of the most common hiking spot for the locals. Some even called it as Treacher's Mountain because of the difficulty level, so be aware it may be challenging and adventurous to reach the peak for some people. However, it is more of 2-3 hours trekking rather than climbing as in most mountains. So rest assured that you can reach the peak within one day (in good weather). You can expect to meet locals, nature, adventure, river crossing, historical traces, admirable views, and sense of vertigo all in one day hiking triip!  *Please bring along some food, as we might need to have lunch before going down.

Local Breakfast.

Roti Bakar Telur Goyang.

- It is one of Penang's signature but I found it somewhere in Rawang. It's on our way to the starting point for the hike, so we may stop over and check it out. In the very same place, there's also Nasi Lemak (Coconut Rice) and Roti Canai (Local Flatbread) in the menu so we can have a taste of local breakfast before going for the hike!

Pertak Village.

This is the starting point, where we're going to pass through a Native People's Village. From here it's gonna be around 15 minutes walk to the first river, our starting point for the hike.

Hike up the trail!

The landmark is the bridge and that's gonna be the first river we'll cross during the hike. This is the beginning of the challenge and adventure, afterwards there's gonna be more. So be prepared, fellas!

Things to expect along the hike:

- Starting Bridge

- Nature all the way; Malaysian little forest

- Cobra Rock

- And a lot more...

Treacher's Peak.

The peak is your winning point after a long way hike, and you deserve the surprise before your eyes. You can even see the 1st historical relics from above!

Historical Relics!

There are two reachable historical sites from the point of Treacher's Hill peak. Each of them was the site for British officers' rest house a long time ago, when the Treacher's Hill was well-known as the sanatorium.

1st Historical Relic - The only thing's remained to see is the chimney and the stairs from the rest house, but it's very

2nd Historical Relic - The site of remaining structure of another rest house.

You can refer to this website for exposure:   http://shiekblog.blogspot.my/2011/07/bukit-kutu-interesting-story-from.html

Treacher's Rock!

This is where you'll have your sense of vertigo overflow. The locals call it 'Tangga Gayat' and climbing up might be a little bit dangerous but the view on the top of the rock is splendid! You just have to be extremely cautious and you can reach the top.

Selangor River Dem - Among the biggest water supply for the Klang Valley area, supplies 60% of water consumption in the area. However on certain season there's gonna be drought and the water level decreases drastically.

Titiwangsa Range - The longest range in Peninsular Malaysia and it can be seen clearly from top of the Treacher's Rock.

Farewell!

We'll be heading back around 4.00PM. That's the end of our trip, but we can stop over for a taste of one the best Cendol in town. I know a perfect place for a perfect cendol, we can also have lunch there.
