We wanted to experience Mekong delta in a tour that was not highly touristic and “standard” as most of the tours that are being offered. We accidently came across Son’s mandarin homestay and booked it in the last minute, but Son responded immediately. Son is very nice and friendly. He is very passionate about what he is doing and eager to show his village to tourists. We stayed with his family and had amazing food cooked by his mother. It was the best food we had during our trip in Vietnam! His homestay is very cosy, and you really manage to get real experience of the local life. And the tropical garden was an amazing experience also. We definitely recommend Son’s homestay and wish him good luck with his project! :-) Ivana and Pedro

Such a unique, relaxing, and valuable trip! Son is a very personable and professional guide; he makes all logistic arrangements very easy to manage. His hometown of Laivung is certainly off the beaten path; and I mean this in the best way possible. The town is vibrant and interesting. The accommodations are comfortable and clean. I hope that Son continues doing his excellent work to bring tourism into his home.

Very warm and personal hospitality at Son's Homestay. Very clean rooms with A/C. The tour was nice particularly the mandarin gardens which belong to the broader family. All activities done by bicycle, approx. 20km on Day 1, on Day 2 until noon. Be prepared to get a lot of homemade food. We had a bit of a bad conscious as we are generally not eating that much. With the dinner we have been offered a very delicious lime/lemon rice wine which was very strong but very good. Thanks to Son!

We had a wonderful, relaxing and authentic cultural experience with Son. Son's family were very welcoming and his mum cooked us some beautiful food. The abundance of fresh fruit that we sourced straight off their property was just amazing, not to mention tasty. We have a new friend in Son & are so thankful for our experience.

I booked a 3 day/2 night tour with Son for my husband and I and we both highly recommend the experience. We stayed at Son's family home and his mother(who has a noodle shop in the market) cooked all our meals (incredible food, something new everyday) Son was very accommodating and flexible in our trip itinerary according to the things we wanted to see and do. The overall experience is much more like visiting a friend than taking a tour, which we really appreciated because we are really not the tour taking types. During our 3 days we didn't cross even one tourist. If you wanna see what Mekong delta really is you definitely need to go with him. He takes a lot of pride in showing people his village and region. He's planning on building a new addition to his house to accommodate his clients. So in few months, it will be even better.

I booked a 3 day, 2 nights trip with Son and it was absolutely perfect. I can highly recommend spending a few days in his village with his lovely family. After a very warm welcome and introduction to all of his family members we started to explore the village itself and its surroundings by feet, scooter or bus. This was as local as it could get, starting with breakfast at his mothers shop on the local market, followed by a visit of his cousin's floating house on the mekong delta or finally lunch at the family table. If you have any doubts what to do after being exhausted by busy Ho Chi Minh City. Book this tour! You will not regret it! Thank you, Son! And see you Son!

Our trip with Son was certainly a highlight of the four weeks we spent touring Vietnam. Although only 20, he is a very mature, highly responsible, ambitious young man, very concerned about pleasing those who take his trip. His immediate (and extended) family were extremely friendly and generous. Everyone smiles, all the time! Wherever we went, fruit and homemade cakes were pressed upon us. Fruit trees are everywhere. We slept on a typical tablelike bed, under a net, with a fan to cool us in a surprisingly large and well-furnished house His mother prepared delicious meals. We had breakfast (his parents were the cooks!) in the village, where the locals gather for morning chats. You will get a real sense of Vietnamese village life and Son himself will tell you a great deal about what life is like in Vietnam today. His younger brother was enlisted to help t take us on an extended motorbike trip. Son will tailor his trip to suit his guests, but the main value of this excursion is what you will learn about Vietnam, in one of the most attractive areas of the country. Strongly recommended!

This was a fun trip! If you're looking for a unique trip far away from other tourists where you experience the life of local people, this is a great trip. (If you're looking for comfy air-conditioned hotel nights and worry about the travel's guide recommendation not to eat salad, unpeeled fruit and to avoid drinks with ice cubes or your scared to drive on the back of a motorbike this is not the right trip for you.) Son picked us up from our hotel by scooter to bring us to the bus station. From there we took a bus to his home village in the Mekong Delta (~3h). We stayed with his family who do not speak english but were very nice and welcoming. He showed us his family's garden where we picked and ate exotic fruits. We drove to a beautiful old Pagoda, where Son explained us local buddhist traditions. His mother cooked delicious lunch and dinner for us (with fish only since we don't eat meat). Later we had beers with his family and friends at a local bar where we had the opportunity to try snails and crabs. We slept on a straw mat close to a fan and a mosquito net protected us from bugs. In the morning we tried different interesting dished at the local market and Son took us for a boat trip to a floating market. The captain got lost, but the little detour turned out to be fun. The floating market was not part of the original tour, but Son adjusted the plan after we've showed interest in visiting a floating market. Son was very flexible and tried to create the best trip possible for us. It seems he enjoys a lot to show his home country to foreigners.

I just returned from my two day trip with Son. It was an amazing experience. He is energetic, down to earth and very social. During the trip he alway made sure I was happy. What I like most is that he tailered the trip to my likes and dislikes. I enjoyed trying different Vietnamese fruit and food, but what I loved most was his family. Son's family is very nice and welcoming, although, I didn't understand anything they said I knew they were happy to have me in their town. Son also allowed me to dress up in traditional Vietnamese clothing, which I enjoyed very much. This is a trip for people who want to learn the REAL Vietnamese lifestyle. If I could give Som any advice it would be for him to relax more. He is a great host, therefore, he shouldn't worry so much. This is a trip everyone should take, if he or she wants to learn about Vietnamese culture. Son taught me a lot, and I am so glad I had the opportunity to meet him.

Since I am the Type of person that doesn't enjoy classic tourist trips at all, I was looking for a different way of getting to know the Mekong area. So I decided to go with Triip. Our local guide was Son, a young student who came from Laivung to Saigon 1 year ago. We stayed at his family house where we received a very warm welcome. Son was very caring and flexible in his program, whatever we wanted to do eg. fishing - he tried to make it work. After a great day in the area of Laivung we had dinner and some beers with the family, friends of the family and people that were just curious about the group of 5 foreigners in their village. We voluntarily slept outside in hammocks with the great sound of nature in the background. All in all the Trip deserves 5 of 5 stars because of all the effort Son put into creating a great experience for us. He is still very young and sometimes a little bit too worried about everything but that's not a bad characteristic. The trip is definitely nothing for narrow minded people, it is more like visiting a friends family for a weekend but the trip can only be enjoyed by people that really walk the earth with an open mind for different cultures, food and ways of living.

Son was very attentive to us and made sure we had everything we wanted and that we were happy at all times. The food was very good and interesting and seeing the local village life and sites was really cool too. I can't really say anything bad about the trip, it was an overall good experience.
