About the creator
See Santiago from multiple standpoints. You can get powerful insights, from the bigger to the smaller... or just go and flirt with the city's impressions. We'll make all the journey at foot, so you'll be able to experience the city in a closer way.
Cerro Santa Lucía - Santa Lucía Hill
Santiago is a city with a important natural vertical component. There are a lot of "island-hills", in the middle of the city's neighbourhoods. Maybe the most important (at least historically) is the "Santa Lucía". It is said that the city was founded here by the Spanish conqueror Pedro de Valdivia, and is also a symbol of the first republican period. With a modernist boulevard added to a few constructions of the late colonial period, this little hill is full of landscapes and perspectives. You can get straight to the top and get the panoramic view of Santiago, or lost yourself in the small corridors, gardens or stairs.
Museo de Bellas Artes - Fine Arts Museum
The fine arts museum was the first of his kind in Latin America. Created in the same republican period of the boulevard of the Santa Lucía Hill (late nineteenth century), is one of the more emblematic institutions of the city. Within you can found important national and international works of art, stable and periodic expositions, and get close to a part of the history of Santiago. Also, the building itself is a wonderful peace of art on his own.
Mercado y Vega Central - City's Markets
Local markets are real places. In their corridors you can witness the true pulse of the city and its inhabitants, get the colours, the smells, the sounds, the flavours. You can also see people in their every day life, the inner dynamics of the community. You can also try new foods, or get a picture. We'll visit the two principal markets, so that you'll be able to see different realities.
