Trek along Muong Hoa Rive which is surrounded by huge rice paddy terraces. You can see the daily life of the local people with the difference minorities such as: H’Mong, Zay, Red Dzao. The night you spend in Tavan village, the unique village in Sapa area where Zay minority live here, it will be an excellent trip with a deep memory.

Day 01: Hanoi – Lao Cai (Train)

We will catch the overnight train soft sleeper with AC to Lao Cai. The train leaves at 22.00 from Hanoi railway station.

Day 02: Sapa - Y linh Ho - Lao Chai - Ta Van (O/N) (B, L, D)

At 10 am we leave the hotel and start trekking. The first part is on the road but we soon turn to the right and walk on a small path down the valley to the Muong Hoa River and from here to the Black H’mong village Lao Chai. Black H’mong is one of the biggest minority groups in the Sapa area. They are proud of their culture and keep their traditions and way of living. They have their own language and wear traditional indigo blue clothing. After this you continue to Ta Van village (1.200 m) to visit Zay people. Zay is a fairly small minority group of about 38.000 people who live mainly in the mountains in Northwest Vietnam. The development has meant that some of their old customs have been lost but many women still wear traditional shirts with a purple, blue or green color. The Zay houses are build of wood and bamboo with a clay floor. We stay overnight with a local family in Ta Van and have our dinner here.

Day 03: Tavan – Giang Ta Chai – Su Pan –Sapa (B, L)

After the breakfast we continue to visit Red Dao people at Giang Ta Chai where we also see a waterfall. The Red Dao women have very colorful red embroidery and coins on their clothing. On their head they wear a red scarf. Some of the women have shaved off their eyebrows because of a nice Red Zao Legend.

We continue along small paths in the rice fields, cross the Muong Hoa River and trek up to Su pan where you will meet the jeep and transfer back to Sapa. Then go to the station for a night train to Hanoi.

Day 04: Hanoi

Pick up at station then transfer to your hotel. End of all the services here.

Really great time, we enjoyed it !!! We spent an absolut fantastic time at Homestay!! It was so beautiful that we didn't want to leave. The nature was fantastic and her husband were very nice!! They cooked a great Dinner on the Open fire and we all set together and laughed and had a good time. The first day tony picked us up in Sapa and we started a 15 km Walk through the fields. She explained us a lot on the way about the life around the ricefields, about the different groups that live in the area, about plants ect. The 2nd day we had a great Walk with an awesome view all over the landscape!! We saw some waterfalls and it was a bit too cold to swim, but in summer you can swim there! We would do it again and we wished we could stay longer!! Thanks for a really great time, we enjoyed it!! :)
