Melaka and Georgetown historic cities of the Straits of Malacca have developed over 500 years of trading and cultural exchanges between East and West in the Straits of Malacca. The influences of Asia and Europe have endowed the towns with a specific multicultural heritage that is both tangible and intangible. With its government buildings, churches, squares and fortifications, Melaka demonstrates the early stages of this history originating in the 15th-century Malay sultanate and the Portuguese and Dutch periods beginning in the early 16th century. Featuring residential and commercial buildings, George Town represents the British era from the end of the 18th century. The two towns constitute a unique architectural and cultural townscape without parallel anywhere in East and Southeast Asia. Highlights: A Famosa St. Paul ruins Church Dutch Square (Christ Church) Jonker Street Enjoy a local Malaccan 'Peranakan' lunch
A unique walking tour of the heritage precinct in the city. View the Sri Maha Mariamman Hindu Temple - built in a unique human-like shape. Stroll past the old Victoria's Jubilee Fund Building (1887). Next in sight is the Chan See Shu Yuen Association which was constructed in 1906 - a fine example of old Chinese temple architecture. The walk ends at the bustling Chinatown street market where bargain hunters can find items of every description and quality.
Travel my way - cheap and fun (Sometimes, even free!). I am not a tour guide - think of me as a friend - helping you experience Kuala Lumpur the way that I know. We will make full use of the public transport in Kuala Lumpur such as the Light Rapid Transit (LRT) and Rapid bus. Expect constant walking and changing trains. I'm pretty flexible so if you have other places you want to visit besides the ones I recommend here, feel free to tell me.
What is more interesting than a budget trip accompanied by a good tourist guide and you will be taken a ride with his car? Why I call this trip as Perak Freestyle Part 1? This is because I have divided Perak into 4 parts. Perak is a country located in north Malaysia and about 90 km from Kuala Lumpur. Perak has so many interesting places to be explored and so many great activities to be done. I call it Freestyle because this trip is flexible based on your request and interest. What I suggest here is just like a guideline. If you have better travel plan and suggestions, I will surely entertain you. Just tell me what you want. I will try my best to fulfill your request. Perak Part 1 includes Hotspring & Wild Life Reservation in Sungkai, Cameron Highlands, Batu Berangkai waterfall in Kampar, Gua Tempurung, Kellie’s Castle in Batu Gajah, Gaharu Tea Valley and Herbs Garden in Gopeng. If you are from Kuala Lumpur, just give me a call. I will fetch you there. If you travel with me, I will use the old road because we can see beautiful village scenery like the houses of the locals, paddy field, river and others. I will only use the highway if we are running out of time of if requested by you. I will make sure that you are that you try all the local food and street food. Not just Nasi Lemak and Teh Tarik but also all the signature dishes from the particular places. If you travel with me, everyday is local food unless requested by you. Do not worry about accommodation because I will try my best to give you the suitable and affordable accommodation. If you are on budget trip, then I will find the budget hotel for you. If you request for more comfortable room or apartment, I will also find them for you. Do not worry because I will deal with the owner or the locals about the price. You will not get cheated by them. Just trust me because I am also a traveler. I want the best for you. This trip will take 4 days and 3 nights. We will spend 2 days in Cameron Highlands because there are so many activities to be done here. Below is the summary of this trip place by place.
Dinner is a must for everyone. However, we always keep thinking, where should we go for a dinner? Any special places that we can go? Here is the right place! This is a small hill at Cheras, what we need to is, walk around 10 to 20 minutes to the top of the hill. Why the time range so far? Because the scenes, the view on half way is too much beautiful! A lot of us will take out their camera, DSLR to capture those amazing view. On top of the hill, there is some wooden table and chairs. We started to take out the food that we bought and enjoy the dinner while chitchat with each others. The night still young, the moon so bright, the star keep shining. This is the best places if you want to take a special, different style of dinner.
Penang! A trip to Malaysia is never complete without a trip to Penang. Penang has many attractions including beaches, beach side drives and the amazing George Town itself! Touring a country can be very exhausting and time consuming. Penang being only a 4 hour drive away from Kuala Lampur makes A Day in Penang the most efficient, fun filled and adventurous way to get to know Penang.
