The history
of Villa-Lobos Park is a little different from other parks. Before 1989, the
area where it is today very clashed on the outskirts of Alto de Pinheiros
region. In its portion farther west there was a Company's dumping ground of
warehouses and General Warehouses of São Paulo (CEAGESP), where about eighty
families collected food and packaging. In the east, neighboring the current
Shopping Villa-Lobos, was deposited dredged material Pinheiros River and in the
central portion of the former owner allowed the debris tank construction
civil.Em 1987 year of birth centennial celebration of Heitor Villa-Lobos the
first studies to implement a contemporary theme park in the area were
presented. The State Decree 28 335 and 28 336/88 732 thousand square meters intended
to implement a "leisure park, culture and sport." The locals welcomed
the proposal, mainly by eliminating the problems caused by uses that at the
time the area had.
In 1989,
Villa-Lobos Park began to be implemented by the Department of Water and Power -
DAEE. Families living on the site were removed, removed 500,000 cubic meters of
debris larger than 1 meter in diameter, and moved 2 million cubic meters of
rubble and earth to hit existing elevations. The Boaçava stream, passing
