Hello – Xin chào! We are Co-hosts Son (David) & An (Cherry) We would like to share stories about our life and you can understand more before joining our experiences. I) David's Profile: My name is Sơn, but friends and travellers always call me a lovely funny way Handsome Dave or Culture Expert. I’m from Moc Chau, a beautiful plateau town in Son La mountainous province 200kms North West of Hanoi. I have a deep passion for adventures and amazing experiences, it’s why I spent quiet a long time to travel and learn about different regional cultures in Vietnam, especially in Hanoi. I have been working in tourism as a Local Guide and Team Free guide Leader for many years. Our team, (including me), helps lot of tourists discover Hanoi in – depth by its hidden charming secrets. Looking back to my little time, when I was a boy, I got used to watching televion programs about travel which showed me a world of various hobbies, passions and targets of people around the world. Many had great chance to visit anywhere they want, but most of us, we were born in a poor and developing country, travel was nearly non-existence. From a young boy, I tried hard to help a little bit for my parents a small money from my picking rubbish in my area. And a miracle came in true reality at 18 years old, that’s utmost happiness and pleasure when I heard I passed in National Exam into University of Vietnam, in our country for a seat at the top well-known universities, is indeed very difficult by intense competition among high school students. Moving to Hanoi for studying was a very hard time for me and more importantly I had to seek for a part time job as English tutor for some secondary students to earn money so as to give me an independent budget for buying books, documents and personal expense. Through tough time, I never gave up my passion and hobbies for knowledge and real expertise in society. I did joined some important English clubs, NGOs, Free tourguide Club and spent time to the old quarter and finally, I realized that I love discovering and sharing everything with the locals and especially the foreigner who were working in or visiting Hanoi at that time. Therefore, I did no longer waste my life for boring things, I put myself into many positive social activities and gained lots of success. II) Cherry's Profile: My name is An and other people call me Cherry. I'm an expert in traditional cuisine of Vietnam, it's why i have been doing in tourism for 5 years. I have special passion and love for invaluable culture since i was born. And now, i grow up and have a deep connection with traveller community in Vietnam and around the world. I would love to share all of my soul, heart and knowledge as well as my skill to many friends, especially, to the ones who love our country and a real foodie and culture explorer. With my current job, I can give all my enthusiastic heart and expertise to any persons even the local or tourist and I’m also a bridge between the owners of some homestays in Hanoi with travellers just because I’m interested in building rapport with clients. Entirely enjoying and talking with travel community and sharing precious information about our individual cultures is my loving job. Come and stay in Hanoi, if you would like to plunge yourselves into the deepest of its traditional culture, just pick me or my friend, we usually spend time to find more crazy and strange things to create and do unique experiences that travellers would have never found by themselves. III) Both of us: At present, We are Sales / Marketing as the part time jobs at Hanoi Old Quarter and Tour Guides. We own special abilities and love for this city and of course we would like to share and introduce most of incredible, unusual and unrevealed cultural essence of Hanoi to you. We are buddies and we were born & grown up in moutainnous provinces, we have happy families and we thank for that. At present, we work and live in Hanoi, we always miss our homeland so much and as an incentive that reminds us to help any other people who is far away from home, such as: foreign workers, staff, business and travellers to Hanoi. Besides, helping some other as our fun and happiness, we, David & Cherry also open a few small business and we are running this directly, we are both professional local guides. We get lots of excellent reviews and comments from travel community. In other side, we get authentic and happy stories of customers, but also some sad things they talk to me.
