River. 8:00am: pick
you up at your hotel and get started biking to Toa Kham boat landing, take a
nice Dragon boat trip up to Perfume river. Visit Thien Mu Pagoda built in 1601
between a river and a pine forest is one of the oldest and prettiest pagodas in
the country. After that, cycle to The
Citadel Complex of Hue, set up by Nguyen Dynasty from 1805 to 1945, is now
one among the relics of the Hue ancient Capital – the World Cultural Heritage. Keep biking to the villages, on
the green shaded roads, passing by the communal houses along the rivers, canals
and through the rice fields to head to Thanh Toan bridge and the agricultural museum. Walk around the
village to see the local market. On the way back to city, stop to have lunch at
Thanh Toan eco restaurant, walking around the garden to see many kind of local
fruits, vegetable or chatting with local people to learn more about their life.

the village has many of its shrines, and the ancestral houses of local
families. Stop at Thanh Toan eco restaurant for welcome drink and cooking class
with our chef. Learn the traditional ways of preparing and cooking Vietnamese

Afternoon: Visit Thanh Toan Bridge – one
of the most valuable ancient bridges in Vietnam, was recognized as national
heritage in 1990 and Agriculture tools museum – this is a unique community
museum in Vietnam where you find a full set of farming and fishing tools
together with many interesting stories of rural village life. Last top for Hue
full day tour and cooking class will be Khai Dinh tomb - that may be
symptomatic of the decline of Vietnamese culture during the colonial era.

years of tumultuous nation-building in Vietnam. Transfer back to the center of

The
massive Kinh Thanh Citadel is the most well known and iconic site
in Hue. Begun in 1805 by Emperor Gia Long, it is actually a sprawling complex
comprised of the Imperial City, several museums, lakes, and lovely gardens, all
laid out in a series of concentric circles. We also visit the Forbidden Purple
City, originally built in the early 1800s for the personal use of the emperor
and staffed by eunuchs who posed no threat to the royal concubines. Our last
stop this morning is Hue Royal Antiques Museum – a collection of ornaments from
the Nguyen Dynasty.

Minh Mang Tomb has an air of
magnificence and formality, and its architectural design harmoniously blends
with its natural surroundings. Last stop today will be Khai Dinh Tomb that may be symbolic of

You will travel along Route 9 to visit Camp Carroll where the whole regiment of the South surrendered the NVA in 1972, the Rockpile - an American observation-post on top of the mountain, then Dakrong Bridge – Ho Chi Minh Trail, the legendary road bringing men and supply to the South in the war time. Then, you will visit a Bru minority village, Khe Sanh Combat Base - US Marine base in 1968, site of the most controversial battle in the Vietnam War.
After your lunch in Dong Ha, you will visit Doc Mieu Fire Base – the first and closest fire base of the South with big guns where they can shell the North from there and became the “magic eye” of the McNamara Line in 1967, Hien Luong Bridge, Ben Hai river at the 17th parallel used to divide Vietnam into the North and the South, Vinh Moc Tunnel, underground wonder expressing the will and determination of the local people staying there to keep the land under frequent air-raids and bombardments.

Chan May Port is located in the south-east corner of Thua Thien-Hue Province in Loc Vinh commune, Phu Loc district, Vietnam. It is operated by the Management Board of Chan May-Lang Co Economics Zone.
Ownership of the Chan May Port may be assumed by the Vinashin Group in early 2008.
The port was used in 2006 as an assembly yard for Rio Tinto Alcan’s G3 Project, where mining modules were assembled and loaded out on the newly constructed wharf to the mine in Australia’s Northern Territory state.
Chan May Port is mainly used for the wood chip industry. Occasionally, luxury cruise liners berth at Chan May as the port is located between the main tourist locations of Hue City and Hoi An. There currently are no passenger facilities at Chan May Port.

DAY 1: HANOI – HALONG – NIGHT ON JUNK (- / L/ D)
We leave Hanoi in morning and travel to the astonishing and mystical Ha Long Bay which is described by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site and is one of the most beautiful places in the region. Located in the Gulf of Tonkin, it is an spectacular collection of 2,000 islands covering an area in excess of 1,500km. This forms a spectacular seascape of limestone pillars and cliff faces. Our crew will welcome you on board with drinks and a fresh seafood lunch. You will check into your cabins and start cruising around the bay to see the amazing rock formations (karsts). You will cruise towards Bai Tu Long Bay, passing the towns of Hon Gai and Cam Pha, Oan Lagoon, Mat Quy (Monster Head) and Am Tich (Teapot) Islets and Vung Vieng fishing village.
We will explore the mystery of Sung Sot Cave which is one of the most beautiful caves in Ha Long Bay. Later on, you will have plenty of time for swimming and kayaking to the Tunnel Cave. During the evening, relax to the casual and comfortable atmosphere held on the boat where you will have an elegant dining experience. If we are in the right season, we can see fresh squid being caught the traditional way. Get your cameras ready for a spectacular sunset, lounge under the clear, star filled sky and retire to your cabin at your leisure where you will spend the night on board near a remote island.
